Attabotics technology is now part of LaFayette Systems

A foundation for innovation, support and scale

Attabotics technology gets a fresh start as part of LaFayette Systems, a family-owned organization with more than 30 years of experience in material handling and warehouse automation. This new chapter brings together the exceptional Attabotics technology with new leadership and LaFayette’s deep operational expertise and customer-first culture to deliver reliable systems, strong support and long-term value.

The Technology

What Is Attabotics?

Attabotics is a 3D robotics-powered order fulfillment system built around a cube-shaped storage structure instead of rows of warehouse aisles. Most automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) move product in two dimensions. Attabotics’ robots travel horizontally and vertically throughout the structure itself, giving direct access to any storage location instead of working down through a stack or along a fixed track.

The result is a system that condenses fulfillment space, cuts the labor needed for picking, and gets a single order from storage to an operator in under 90 seconds.

Cubic Storage Structure

A modular, three-dimensional storage grid that fits an existing warehouse or a new build without floor remediation.

Attabot™ Robot

Moves both horizontally and vertically inside the structure at 2.7 meters per second, with no single point of failure.

Presentation Stations

Workstations where any order can be completed, supporting picking, decanting, cycle counts, and kitting.

Attabotics Software

The order management and control layer built specifically for the Cubic Storage Structure, connecting to existing ERP or WMS systems.

Built at Scale

Engineered Around the Building It Goes Into

Every Cubic Storage Structure is designed to fit the warehouse it’s installed in, using vertical space most fulfillment operations leave empty instead of asking a facility to change its footprint.

Why Attabotics

What Sets Attabotics Apart

Cube storage has become the general shorthand for high-density automated fulfillment, but not every cube system works the same way. Attabotics was built around a specific structural decision that changes what the system can do.

1

Robots move in three dimensions, not two

Many cube storage systems confine robots to a single top plane and lower a lift down into a stack, which means moving bins out of the way to reach one that’s buried. Attabotics’ robots travel horizontally and vertically throughout the structure itself, reaching any location directly.
2

No single point of failure

If one Attabot™ robot goes down, the rest of the system keeps working. New robots can be added without interrupting operations already in progress.
3

Fits the building you already have

The Cubic Storage Structure is designed to work around walls, corners, and existing columns, and installs without floor remediation, whether that’s a retrofit warehouse, a new build, a dark store, or a micro-fulfillment center.
4

No battery to service or replace

The Attabot™ robot recharges on supercapacitors while it works, so there’s no dedicated charging downtime built into daily operations.
5

Connects to what you’re already running

A communications layer connects Attabotics Software to any existing ERP or WMS, regardless of API, without requiring middleware.
6

Built-in fire safety innovation

The Guardian™ bin replaces combustible plastics with inert galvanized steel, designed to limit fire risk and support suppression systems in high-density racking. Fire safety certification with commercial insurers is underway.
Where It Fits

Any Business With a High-Density Fulfillment Problem

Attabotics is industry agnostic. The Cubic Storage Structure has been deployed across a range of sectors, and its modular design fits nearly any fulfillment space, whether that space already exists or is still being planned.

Common questions

Can Attabotics be expanded as our business grows?

Yes. The Storage System is modular and scalable. Users can add storage, throughput, or both, depending on the business’s needs, with minimal operational disruption.

What range of grocery SKUs can Attabotics automate?

Attabotics can automate approximately 75% of a typical grocery store’s SKUs, equating to about 60% of total sales.

Modern Beauty

Multi-site scaling and acquisitions

Modern Beauty Supplies has grown through strategic expansion and acquisitions across Canada. As product assortment, inventory, and order volumes increased, Attabotics let the company scale fulfillment without proportionally increasing labor, expanding from 33 to 50 robots and growing workstation capacity to manage more than 12,000 SKUs across 98,000 storage locations.

5G Smart Warehouse Experiment

Attabotics, in partnership with KPMG, was selected by the U.S. Department of Defense to install the Cubic Storage Structure as part of a prototype solution at the Marine Corps Logistics Command’s 5G Smart Warehouse Experiment in Albany, Georgia. The project pairs Attabotics’ fulfillment system with emerging 5G-enabled technologies, supporting the identification, storage, retrieval, and inventory control of material and supplies under maximum wireless security.

Built to Last

A Foundation for Innovation, Support, and Scale

Attabotics technology is now developed and supported by LaFayette Systems, a family-owned organization with more than 30 years of experience in material handling and warehouse automation. The change brings new leadership and LaFayette’s operational expertise together with the Attabotics platform, without changing the underlying technology customers already rely on.

Same engineering hub, wider support network

The original Attabotics facility in Calgary continues to house engineering, business, and manufacturing functions, with manufacturing now also expanding into the United States. That’s paired with LaFayette Systems’ existing family of companies:
  • LaFayette Engineering: conveyor and sortation software and controls
  • Mesh Automation: industrial robotics and machine vision
  • Century Conveyor Systems: conveyor design and integration
  • Kendale Industries: custom metal fabrication

Still developing new technology

Product development hasn’t slowed down. The Guardian™ bin, launched in 2026, replaces the combustible plastics used in most ASRS totes with inert galvanized steel:
  • Designed to contain leaked liquid and limit spills inside high-density racking
  • Supports the distribution of fire suppression fluid through the structure
  • Maintains structural integrity at elevated temperatures
  • Fire safety certification with commercial insurers is currently underway
